Mercedes Motorsport Principal Norbert Haug has comforted the other Formula 1 teams that the Mercedes team has no leading new car features on the W03. As the team had confirmed that it will not unveil its new car until the first day of the second round of pre-season testing (Barcelona), the other Formula 1 teams suspected that the team wanted to hide some groundbreaking car features from the rest. Haug, however, has assured that is not the case.
Haug: “I do not think that your eye will be caught by any big surprises when you see the car during the unveiling. But I certainly hope that we have some clever solutions and we have some good ideas incorporated on the car. It is a good base to work from and certainly we will not turn the world upside down, but we do need to make a good step [with this car].”
The Mercedes team has completed a private run with the Mercedes W03 on Sunday at the Silverstone Circuit. They will present the car at the Circuit de Catalunya pit lane on Tuesday.
