Force India has presented its new challenger, the VJM05, at the Silverstone Circuit in Great Britain. The car features slim sidepods and a similar nose to that of the cars of Ferrari and Caterham. It will be driven by Paul di Resta and Nico Hülkenberg. The team’s biggest aim is to at least come in fifth in the Constructor’s Championship.
Di Resta commented: “That is the big aim this year, to come fifth as a constructor. But to achieve that you are going to be overtaking a car manufacturer, which is a big thing in Formula 1 and a World Championship (winning) team at that. We need to make that next step and the dedication of everyone around here. The buzz is still around and I am sure we are ready to make that step should our machine give us the competitiveness we need.”
“The momentum we had at the end of last year, hopefully we have managed to carry that over. It is a fine piece of art and hopefully when it gets to the track it will show what it is capable of.”
