The private World Superbike tests at Motorland Aragon resumed on Tuesday and Tom Sykes proved to be even faster than on the first day. On the soft tires he broke his own lap record, which he set on Monday and dominated the second day of testing as well.
The participating teams Kawasaki, BMW Motorrad Motorsport, Pedercini Kawasaki and Aprilia have set up this private test as a preparation for the second race of the season in Imola, Italy. Sykes has set a time of 1:57.200 and broke all records on the Aragon circuit. He was followed by Leon Haslam, who topped Sykes’ time he set on Monday.
Sykes’ Kawasaki teammate Joan Lascorz was also still well on pace after having set the second best time on Monday. Today he set the third time of 1:58.200 and with these results Kawasaki seems to have topped the Aprilia team during the private tests, while Aprillia’s Max Biaggi was the star of the day during the first race of the season in Australia.
